image002Trust Chem Matures Into A Truly Global Pigment Player

In its short history, privately owned Trust Chem has grown into one of the biggest producers and exporters of specialty color chemicals in China. Headquartered in Hangzhou, Trust Chem is unique in having the largest organic pigment laboratory in China and currently operates four manufacturing sites covering AZO, Phthalo Blue, Quinacridone, Benzimidazolone, disazo condensation and HPP pigment production in addition to other series of chemical products.

“Ten years ago multinational companies wanted only information from us and now they want to buy from us,” said Wu Li, technical director, Trust Chem. “We are focusing more now on the high performance pigments area and one of our main goals is helping coatings companies save money.”

Trust Chem’s largest markets that it sells into are the automotive OEM and refinish segments. Li said that while Trust Chem set a goal of 25 percent growth for the year, it has actually achieved a very impressive 15 percent growth rate.

With sales offices in Europe, the USA and Australia, Trust Chem supplies numerous customers from large multinationals to small organizations in more than 60 countries. “We deal with most of the major international pigment buyers,” said Li. “Our focus is on organic pigments, however, we source for our customers a wide range of organic and inorganic pigments, dyestuffs and extenders for the various industries.

“The great variety of pigments we offer at the most competitive price/performance are custom-made for our specifications and the specifications of our customers,” Li continued. “Our goal is to simply be the best supplier for our customers. We are constantly challenging ourselves to meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and service while also meeting or exceeding their expectations for value.”

For the EU Reach program, Trust Chem expects to fully register more Chinese produced organic pigments than any other supplier, including pigments from a wide variety of factories.

“Dealing with Reach legislation requires of a substantial monetary investment and so far Trust Chem has completed registration of 22 substances,” said Robert Wielinga, director, Trust Chem Europe BV. “Reach will help the market over time.”

At CHINACOAT2011 Trust Chem is highlighting several of its pigment preparations for automotive, decorative and industrial applications including PV 23; PB 60; PR 122 and 202; PO 43; and PY180.
